Relationships matter.

I’m fortunate to still be in close contact with the man who was my soccer coach when I was twenty years old.

We speak every day.

There’s nothing more valuable than having someone in your corner who’s seen you at your best – and your worst – during various stages of your life. Sometimes, people engage in relationships merely for what they can get out of them, and not purely for the value that the people they connect with add to their lives. Our relationship started on the soccer field but it has progressed into my adulthood. Because of that bond we developed years ago, I can look back on my life and identify lessons I learned from him on the soccer field that I’ve also been able to implement in my everyday living.

Identify the key relationships in your own life and consider how much you’ve benefited and grown because of those connections.

Mr. Fabian Reid
